For children 8 - 12 years
Kalakshetra and The Aseema Trust jointly hosted a children's mela called Gigillippu (means rattle) for children. There were story corner, palm leaf bird work, poetry corner, tree walk, knowing about musical instruments like the veena, mridangam etc, clowning with Kalairani, theatre exercises with Prof. Ramanujan, Kolattam, knowing about Geography and a film screening of Satyajit Ray's Goopi Gyne, Bhaga Byne.
Ended with procession with Padayani masks and performance. Kadaikelu - story - Jeeva Raghunath

Registration on a first come first served basis.
We encourage children to sponsor one more youngster who cannot afford the fee

Smitalay organises 'SAMSMARANAM’, a tribute to Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, the epochal Odissi dancer. Guruji's legacy still continues in the form of his countless students who strive to popularize Odissi in India and around the world.

'SAMSMARANAM' 2007 - Kumkum Lal from Delhi made a presentation of traditional Odissi. Also, Ratikant and Sujata Mohapatra, along with a few other artistes from Srjan, Bhubaneswar, presented some innovative pieces choreographed using Odissi vocabulary by Ratikant Mohapatra.
