Bundi
Bundi, south
east of Ajmer, was founded in 1342 by a Hara Chauhan Chief. It was
the citadel of the Chauhans and Handas. This township is nestled
in a narrow gorge. The Taragarh Fort (Star Fort), Shiv Mandir, palaces,
cenotaphs, gardens, lakes, hunting resorts are all interesting spots to
visit.
Bhim Burj is
a large tower that is found in the Taragarh Fort. The 16th century
cannon Garbh-Ganjam was originally housed here. There are several
secret underground passages in this Fort.
The Rani Mahal
has many wonderful miniatures and coloured glass work.
