Thirukoodal temple is situated near
the Madurai bus stand.
The Moolavar is Koodal Azhagar seen
in seated posture facing east. On the Ashtaanga vimaanam are the
idols of Palli konda Perumal (reclining posture) on one level & Soorya
Naaraayanan in standing posture on another level. This is one of
the few Vaishnava temples with a sannadhi for the Navagrahams.
