Kamakshi Amman sametha Marundeeswarar and Anjaneyar Temple
at Vada Iluppai, near Kanchipuram, Tamilnadu
24 April 2015
This Shiva temple is located at Vada Iluppai, 16 kms to the west of
Kancheepuram on the banks of River Palar (on the road connecting Kanchi
and Arcot). Vada Iluppai is also celebrated as "Madhuga Shethram",
"Dindima Kavi Shethram" and "Brahma Vidhyapuram".
Lord Maruntheeswarar faces West, which is itself an exceptional factor.
The name of the Lord denotes," a doctor who can rescue mankind from all
diseases".
Devotees perform puja on Sundays to Hanuman, and He appears in their
dreams and offers them solution from all difficulties. Lord Anjaneya and
Guru Dakshinamurthy face each other, which is a good remedy for all
problems created by Lord Saneeshwara. This exceptional arrangement is a
good cure for delayed marriages, doshas in baby birth etc. The combined
blessings of Guru Bhagwan and Lord Hanuman is a strong defence for human
kind to come out of all adversities. We are aware of the true statement
that Lord Guru's vision always bestows us countless bliss. To top it
all, Lord Anjaneya gives his presence, in the dreams of those who
worship him and endows them with His golden blessings.
Arunagirinathar has sung in praise of Vada Iluppai as "Anybody who
wishes freedom from rebirth should eternally worship Vada Iluppai".
This sanctified temple has been visited by many Gnanis, Gurus, Saints,
Vidhwans etc. As per the words of Shri Chandrasekara Saraswathi
Swamigal, Goddess Kamakshi lives perpetually here and offers Her
Omnipotent blessings to mankind. Eminent saints like Thapovanam
Gnanaananda Swamigal, Sheshadri Mahan, Poondi Mahan, Sri Arunagirinadha
Swamigal have offered their pujas here.
The ancient temple is getting spruced up and preparations are under way
for consecrating Swarna Akarshana Bhairavar and other deities. This is
one of the rare places where Swarna Akarshana Bhairavar is seen with His
consort.
It is planned to perform the sacred yagam, known as Thatanka Pratishtai,
along with the kumbabishekam and also the installation of Sri Chakra
for Kamakshi Amman as per the Sri Vidya Mantra Sastra. Guru Puja is to
be conducted shortly at this shrine.
