MLV appeared in a single scene in Lena's Tamil production, a musical movie, " Krishna Bhakthi" (1948).
In this film she sings in a king's court, a popular Saint Thyagaraja
Swamigal composition in raga, 'sarasvati manOhari', "Enta vETukoNDu
rAghavA….." Slim and attractive, MLV looks impressive on screen and her
accompanying artistes were all women. The on-screen 'mridangam'- player
was Kumari N. Rajam who was an adept in playing on that inimitable
percussion instrument. During the song recording the noted mridangam
artiste of the day, SVS Narayanan played on the mridangam. Kumari Rajam
'acted' the scene well because she knew to play the instrument!
